Privacy policy
Last updated: July 2026.
The short version: Memora is built so your data stays yours. We run no servers, collect no analytics, and never see your audio or your transcripts.
Recordings and transcripts
Audio, transcripts, summaries and reports are saved only on your Mac, in folders you choose in the settings. Transcription happens locally with the Whisper model running on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to us, because there is no server of ours to upload to.
Cloud summaries (optional)
If you enable summaries, the transcript text is sent to the provider you pick (Anthropic or OpenAI) using your own API key. That exchange is between you and the provider, under their policy. Memora is not a middleman and keeps no copies. The audio is never sent, only text.
License and payments
Purchases are handled by Polar, which processes payment data as an independent controller (see their policy). When you activate a license, the app contacts Polar's servers to verify the key: the key and an identifying name for your Mac (the computer name) are transmitted. The check repeats periodically. Nothing else is sent.
Updates
The app checks for new versions by downloading a manifest file from this website. It is a plain HTTP request and carries no personal identifiers.
macOS permissions
Memora asks for the Microphone permission (your voice) and the Screen Recording permission (system audio, that is the other participants' voices; the screen itself is never recorded). Keep in mind that recording a conversation may require the other participants' consent depending on applicable law: informing them is your responsibility.
