Frequently asked questions
- How does the free trial work?
- The first launch starts a 14-day trial with every feature enabled. No account, no credit card. When it runs out, the app tells you plainly.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- You can no longer start new recordings or generate new summaries. Everything you already recorded stays yours: you can keep reading, replaying and exporting every file. Your data is never locked away.
- How many Macs does a license cover?
- Up to 5 personal Macs. You can deactivate the license on one Mac (in Settings) and activate it on another when you switch computers.
- Where does my recorded audio go?
- To your disk, in a folder you pick. Transcription runs locally with Whisper: the audio is never uploaded to any server, including ours. We do not run servers.
- What about summaries?
- They are optional and off by default. If you turn them on, the transcript text (only the text, never the audio) is sent to Claude or OpenAI using your own API key. You decide if and when.
- Do I need an internet connection?
- Not for recording and transcribing. You only need it to download the Whisper model on first launch, for updates, to activate the license, and for cloud summaries if you use them.
- Why does macOS ask for the Screen Recording permission?
- That is how macOS grants access to system audio (the other participants' voices). Memora uses the permission for audio only: the screen is never recorded or stored.
- How do refunds work?
- Payments are handled by Polar, which also issues the invoice. If something is wrong, write to us within 14 days of the purchase and we will sort it out, refund included. We just ask that you try the free trial first: that is what it is for.
- I have a problem, who do I contact?
- Write to fabio.bassan@aircode.it. We reply as soon as we can, in English or Italian.
